March Social Ride 2022

March Social Ride

There was a good attendance for the March Social Ride with the promise of a dry ( but cold) ride.

Excellent to see some of our recently successful graded riders out for the day too. Arf headed up the pack as we made our way out, with Richard making sure we didn’t lose anyone on the way. The twisty route to our first stop was for a cuppa at the very tranquil Overwater Marina. The staff were very welcoming, serving up hot brews and delicious cake! Refreshed, it was time to pick our way through the back roads over towards Jodrell Bank. The huge icon dish loomed closer looking fantastic in the bright morning sunshine. The Cheshire back roads provided excellent fun as we made our way across into the adjoining country of Derbyshire. With lunchtime fast approaching we tiptoed around the lanes north of Macclesfield and steered north east to the beautiful town of Bollington for lunch. The excellent Indian Goat adjacent to the beautiful cricket ground provided us with a plethora of taste sensations with gorgeous food and drink. A good chance for some of our newer members to chat and get to know each other, putting faces to names and machines to riders . https://www.instagram.com/reel/Caw-jXLI9y2/?utm_medium=share_sheet

The final leg of the day saw us head out and up to the A537 (cat & fiddle) We we’re blessed with dry roads, fantastic clear blue skies and far reaching views as we made our way east. A quick fuel stop at Ladmanlow and we were off again, picking our way south back towards Staffordshire. The day ended late in the afternoon back in Stafford having covered around 130 miles in the day .
